Tyler Perry's "WHY DID I GET MARRIED TOO?"
I saw Tyler Perry's new movie last night and found it was incredibly entertaining, reminding me of those things and friendships that life presents us with. But more importantly, it visually reminded me of our hopes when embarking on marriages, friendship on our life journey. The show center's on 4 couples who are life long friends who take a yearly vacation. We see through 3rd party eyes, the troubles, drama, and dilema's of strained marriages and friendship; the simple truth is, we see a movie shadowing our lives, or the dream of having a truly life long lasting marriage. It rekindles our memories of those loves we lost in our in lives that held so much promise. But it's a movie about loss as well.

Locating the Sexton's
By happenstance, I had a conversation with a co-worker at work regarding aka's and alias which prompted me to do an internet search for my birth name MACIO LENNOX SEXTON, knowing and having met, George Sexton Jr., my nephew Aaron Sexton, Goree Sexton, Annette Sexton, and others in the late 80's while stationed in San Diego, CA. It filled a void in my life, I always knew my birth name was Macio Sexton since my teens, but never was able to meet them until my early 30's. My biological father, George Sexton had passed away years before, but his wife, Goree and my 1/2 brothers and sisters, as well as, my own uncles, all still lived in Los Angeles. Life being is, after decades of desiring to meet them, I lost contact with them all after I returned to Portland in 1990. Ever since, I have tried occasional to run the names I could remember via the internet to find some contact info. Yesterday, I was blessed, and found Aaron Sexton, my nephew, had a FACEBOOK account and it had a email address attached to it. He lives in Compton CA. His FACEBOOK photos caused me to get a little enthusiastic, happy even. Could this be my nephew. I recalled meeting him in 1990, and this facebook picture was familar. I sent off a email asking whether his father was George Sexton....I received a response, it was my nephew. We spoke on the phone for maybe 5 minutes, but it made my year. A void in my life is filled. I past on my information for him to have my older brother George call me...

Spring 2010
Things are going well. Nothing exciting in my life, and thing remain fairly routine. I'm still working at Grange Insurance in downtown Seattle. I walk everyday 10 miles. Recent challenges have related to my daughter Nia relocating here with me. She's not happy with my living circumstances, as I have been living at a relative's trying to dig out a financial hole I've dug myself into. I do see light at the end of tunnel though and should be seeing a turn around financially by June. I think Nia will be fine once she is able to overcome these temporary circumstances and she's moving forward with her life and getting back into pursuing her dreams.
